  • Hi Guys and Dolls,

Suppose someone you knew without your knowledge took cash out of your purse/wallet. It was the cash needed to pay your mortgage. Too late to recover it, because the person already spent it and its gone.

Several months later this SAME person who stole your cash is at local pub your at. You notice a wad of cash falls out of his pocket. Ironically it is just about the same amount of cash that was stolen from you. The cash was needed for a down payment for a new care he so desperately needed. Without the car he would not be able to take the new job offered to him out of town. A job that took many months to find.

Would you return the cash......or would you retaliate and feel justified for having your cash stolen and keep it?

  • Love your questions!

Am I allowed to ask what-the-heck would I be doing with my mortgage payment in cash????

  • Now Now Doc.....you know how much i love to spar with you, but it is not the concern here!!!!!!!!!! Lets just say the person doesn't believe in banks!!

tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue

  • I'd have to give give it to him, if i kept it i'd feel on
the same level as him.. a thief, or some kind of guilt would
overtake me and that on the shoulders just isn't worth it.
Though so very tempting, i'd still feel so terrible taking it.

  • Lips I need some clarity here, did I know for sure they were the one that took my money?

If so, several months later I wouldn't be worried about it because I would have already got my money back in one way or another.  wink
  • I'd give it back but I might say "wish the person who stole from me was as honest"

This is a good question of ethics and just how we might react in situations hopefully we'll never be in.

  •   You guys are just too nice.  Because the minute I was sure who took the money, I would be at their door, in their house and I am sure I could find something, or several things that I thought were equivalent to the amount of money that was taken and then we would be even.
As far as the money that fell out of his pocket, I definitely wouldn't say anything to him about it.  I wouldn't even touch it and in the back of my mind hope some1 will pick it up and keep it.  hehe!!!
  •   I think I'll go with Shelli on this one.

I may not take the money myself, but I sure wouldn't tell him it fell out of his pocket.
I would hope some bum would pick it up and then he can feel how it feels to have something stolen/not returned to him.

If I knew he was for sure the person that stole my money, I tell you this, he would not have very many good days with me hounding him all the time, and making his life hell for what he did to me.

Being stolen from? Will not tolerate it.  I worked to hard for the few things I have in life and I'll be damned if someone is gonna steal it from me.

                                                          PMM

  • I knew we were one in the same Pam!!!!!!  I work too hard to have anyone steal from me!!!!

  • wink wink wink
  • TAKE IT!!!    SERVES THEM RIGHT!  tongue

  • I don't think i could take it. Karma would surely come back to haunt me. As crazy as this may sound, i would have empathy that he could not buy the car!

Because of me he would have no car and no job. I just wouldn't want that on my shoulders.

    Lips
  • your right miss lips.....that is karma, your thieving friends karma that is, what goes around comes around, you were unfortunate enough to lose your rent money, then were forunate enough to "find" it back  grin

  • LMAO goldenboy, that is too funny!!!!  cheesy

  • I do not believe in stealing, but if he stole it from me, then I would just look at it as a return of my loss, not stealing.

No bad karma here..and I DO believe in Karma..

  • Good point there hun, you are just taking what was yours in the first place!!!  cheesy  cheesy
Or you could just call me as soon as it happened & we could beat it out of them!!!! wooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo!!!!
  • hehehehe...shell, we must have grown up in the same neighborhoods  grin grin grin grin
