remember the first time

The first time I smoked I was in a the school yard with Lois who I was sweet on. Was only 13 and had to show off and stole a couple of my dads cigarettes. He smoked Viceroy don't think they sell them anymore. Anyhow took me a spell to light it because I couldn't strike the match and had to put the match between the matchbook and took about 5 tries. To say face I told Lois it was a bad book of matches lol. We didn't stay long in the school yard after I got done smoking cos I got sick as a mule. I forgot I left the other cigarette in my jean pocket and mom found it when she did the wash and told dad. He called me in the kitchen and said son your mother found this cigarette in your pants this morning. You are officially a man now so lets smoke one together. Long story short he made me smoke 3 cigarettes at the kitchen table. It cured me for while and didn't light up again until I was 18.

I was 15, chatting with a school friend outside her house and she gave me a smoke.  I liked it and that was that.  What annoys me more than anything is that she didn't smoke after that because she didn't like it,  In those days, anyone could buy cigarettes so we had free access to them either in the shop or via a machine on the wall - a pack of 5 "Park Drive".  Amazing that you could buy them in packs of 5. 

My first was a Kool Superlong, I was 13 and friend gave me one, I lit it but didn't inhale, she said you are wasting the cig, do it like this, puff the cig, open your mouth and breath in, did it and choked, cughed so hard thought my throat was gonna fall out, but I like the way the smoke came out, did it again, next wasn't so bad, then she showed me how to make those smoke rings... blah that's what hooked me, thought I was cool blowing out smoke rings... what I didn't know then is what haunts me now

I was 11 - yes i know crazy age - but i was basically taken to the bottom of a field by some of the not so nice class friends (no they was not my friends) - and they basically forced me to smoke 1 - to which i didn't like it at first but then after that i started smoking about once every few days, then it kinda just went every day then by the age of 14 or 15 my parents found out and they actually let me smoke in the garden and then eventually in the kitchen - it went even further they even bought me them too - crazy cos my parents was strict they wouldn't even let me goto the shops alone until i was 15 , strange.

I was 16 I think, stole a few of my dad's cigarettes, the brand was a Greek one if I remember correctly, they were called Assos. Got very sick the first time but I didn't give up, smoked a second right after throwing up, then got sick again, then tried again and so on. I ended up smoking around 3 packs a day at the age of 19, then made amends and reduced the number quite significantly.

I started smoking around 14. My best friend growing up was a bad influence and he got me started. It seemed like everyone smoked then. I always had an older friend that bought me cigarettes so it was an easy habit to keep up with. I didn't inhale at first and I went into the bath room and forced myself to inhale. I coughed but kept right on going.

I was 16 the first time I lit up, it was on a camping trip with friends. I got sick as a dog, but got over it and smoked ever since.As of late I've been forced to smoke the electronic smokes because we can no longer smoke in the squads....Sucks but I have cut down quite a bit!

I started smoking at 15 after watching smokers and thinking it looked so cool. Yeah i know pretty dumb looking back. I think my sister snitched on me and told my mom. She asked if i was smoking and i knew i better say yes because i figured she must know or why else would she ask.

To be honest she was very cool about it and went on to say how she started smoking around the same age. She said i could smoke in front of her when i turned 16 and that i better not ever smoke her ciggys and figure out how i was going to pay for them!

lol we are all a bunch of teenage chimney smoke stacks. If we waited until our 20's we would be smart enough not to start. But think of how cool we looked back then.

You'd think we would be smart enough not to smoke if we waited but I know a guy who started smoking in his 20's. Never understood what made him start.

I never had a smoke in my life. On the other hand they don't call me a pothead for nothing ( but purely for medicinal purposes )

I was 16 or 17 when I tried smoking and that was it. Never really liked it and more importantly I didn't look cool.
