  • I was at home watching TV when breaking news interupted the program i was watching.  The News Anchor announces a plane has just hit one of the twin towers.  My eyes were glued to this horrific scene taking place. All i was thinking about was "What happened and i wish i was there to try to help in anyway i could" . Next thing i knew was another plane streaks accross the sky and then slams into the other tower. My jaw dropped and i lifted my hands to my face and i started to cry. Tears ran down my face and i noticed i was holding my breath. I was speachless. I felt helpless. I said outloud "NO"   All i could think about was all those people that were in both the towers.  What happen after that floored me.....  Both towers went down.  .........

  • A day we will all remember!!
  • A day we will never forget.  I was at home that day and like you Diane, could not believe what was unfolding before me.  A terrible terrible day that still haunts me.  I can still see that person so clearly, falling from the building....just awful.

What I don't understand is how those two huge towers managed to just crumple downwards like a controlled demolition.

  • Wow Blueday,  our thoughts exactly.  That was strange.....

  • The infrastructure was destroyed by all the jet fuel, and they crumbled.  I was at work at Trinity University when the news came in.  They quickly held a student/staff chapel service and things were not the same the rest of the day, or ever, after that.

  • That's a day that I don't think any of us will ever forget. I know where I was and what I was doing. What makes it worse is the aftermath. It's been 11 years and people still worry about attacks around the anniversary of 911. That event has wreaked havoc for years to come. We just need to honor the lives lost and the outpouring of kindness shown and not be afraid.

  • I was on my way to see my doctor because I had been having these weird anxiety attacks the previous few months that come out of no where at a time in my life where things could not have been better..the first tower went down as I sat in the waiting room and I was with my doctor when someone walked in and said the second tower was hit ..my doctor looked at me as she handed me a prescription for valium and said "I have a feeling I will be handing out a lot more of these"..I never took one and never had another anxiety attack again..weird how the mind works and puts things in perspective even when you can't

  • They don’t call us the “United” States for nothing and through all the devastation on that dark day over New York that fell like acid rain there was goodness. With such a diverse culture it didn’t matter if you were White, Black, Chinese or Latino what did matter was our unity as a nation.

We have been branded as the nation “who will never forget” and remembering the scores of Americans who hung their flags in front of their homes and on cars reinforced the faith of a country that reminds us united we stand, divided we fall.

We won’t forget those Americans who died nor will we forget those firemen, police and civilians who were among the brave. Through every horrible event throughout our lifetime there is always a silver lining behind that dark cloud that looms. And for me it was a time that restored my faith in the good old U.S of A.

  • Yes, I surely remember. And the first thing that comes to mind is United Airlines Flight 93 and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Even though I'm not an American, nor do I live in the US, this is something I will never forget.

  • Dont live in US either but still remember it and probably never forget it. Theres so many documents i watched about it.. Horrible sad
