Wow, those are really embarrassing... I know I've made a few mistakes as a journalist but none of them were as obvious as these!

Incredible that they didn't notice what they had written..or did they?

I know with some of the things they put in my hometown newspaper that nobody edits before printing sometimes...

And of course they know what it is about and have facts a reader does not before reading the article and the headline is perfectly clear to them when written...

I know from experience that a journalist can get a bit carried away and if you consider that sometimes they work against the clock then errors can be understandable. But that's why we have editors, they are supposed to think clearly and correct such mistakes

Yep, these haven't seen any proofreading or editing, that's for sure! I know mistakes happen to journalists, and that's normal as they're usually overworked, but this is a big no-no for a newspaper's editors.
