Hiya Guys and Dolls,Chicago has 18" of snow already this morning, with this possibly being the worst snow storm in US history before it is over. Up to 6" more before it is all said and done! Winds at 60 miles per hour make impossible to walk down the street. Snow drifts are already reported at 7 feet. Have you ever heard of lightening and thunder in a snow storm? That is absolutely wild! Didn't think it was possible. Over 76,000 people without power make it a tough to stay warm as temperatures drop to the single digits. Did anyone else get a lot of snow?Lips

OMG that's crazy. In all the years I lived there, never experienced lightening and thunder during a snow storm.

Hope you do not lose power! OMG did you manage to get to the store before the blizzard hit?
I bet it probably doesn't even feel that cold does it? Seems that the snow insulates.

Oh wow i just got an email that Hollywood Casino ( located in a suburb in Chicago) is closed today due to weather! You know it has to be bad to shut down a casino! I don't think that has ever happened unless there was a massive fire.

Losing power is just horrible...it's been happening to where I am too often as well.
The worst part is that my monkey don't understand why he can't watch his shows and play computer...I have been trying to make fun games with candles and flash lights but it doesn't last too long with this monkey...:)
Thunder storm is another not so fun for me 'cause whenever it happens, all my three cats run like crazy and can't even imagine how my puppy will react...

OMG - very worrying indeed Lips. No - Ive never seen thunder and lightening when it's been snowing.

I hope you have plenty of food in your cupboards and your power stays on..

Stay warm. It got down to 18 degrees here in Texas. Will probably snow Thursday night. My pipes are frozen, one is busted. Had it dripping heavily but it froze anyway. Not going to thaw until probably Friday sometime. But things could be much worse, like up Northeast!
