  • it seems odd that the "mob" can create such a stir against someone who actually did what he was elected to do and yet the "mob" is ok with someone who didnt do what he was elected to do.  is this a double standard???

  • Wisconsin taxpayers and citizens have benefited greatly from Walkers policies. He has put the State in a much better financial position and got rid of Public Employees being able to collective bargain, stopped the Unions from causing financial problems for the State that would have led to increased State taxes.  We don't need public unions. Federal and State laws such as EEOC, Workers Compensation and such have made the neccesity of public unions a mute point.
Take Texas and Tennessee that have no Collective bargaining laws for public workers; they don't seem to have trouble recruiting public workers, perhaps one reason is that they have no State income tax. Another thing, if a State is not competetive in salaries and benefits, they will be forced to up their salaries and benefits to be competetive with other States. The whole Wisconsin thing was started by Unions that saw their power and money being taken away, not because Teachers and other public workers were being paid lower salaries on average than other States.
Even the Federal Government doesn't allow all of their workers to form Unions or collective bargain. And, many professions are banned by Federal and State laws from organizing a Union. Public employees that are paid by taxpayers shouldn't be allowed to use the power of a Union to force taxpayers to pay them more or increase their benefits above what other non-uninized employees get.

  • i couldnt have said it better myself.  This will prove to be a historic moment in politics as many politiicians might actually start doing the right things, and the things they were voted in for.  This was a well deserved major shot in the groin for unions.

  • Personally, unions were great for getting worker rights and laws passed to protect them. Now it's gotten to the point that a good worker loses out to a person who has "Senority" instead of knowledge/experience.

Case in point. In 1996 I worked as a temp for a distributor of Coke. There were 9 people working, all (Except me) were union. One guy with 25 years there would load 1 1/2 trucks a night. The rest of the workers would load 5-6 each.

Because of his senority, they couldn't fire him as he WAS working, though slow as a slug. That's the drawback to unions in my view.

  • Death to the Unions!

Unions want to be treated extra special at the expense of taxpayers.

Walker made public workers pay 5% toward pensions instead of their (abnormally low) 1%.

  • absolutely mind doc,  hey doc  are you getting a good chuckle watching DOJ Holder freaking tap dancing his assss off ahhahahahahahah  what a stooge../////.....he is looking at jail time if you ask me

  • well you can say all ya want about Trade Unions .. if i can say how the most two dangerous criminals in our system are politicals and religious power mongers.. i am the first son of an international trade union Ironworker father and Lithographics mother .. however when i went into the trade after the Navy i didn't get my heritage of title after much hard work of a Tradesman.. single handedly i raised the production level in two years time in the St Louis region by my standard of work at my position i knew i was the best of the best at the time. I was passed my Union position to two others who one had no relations or merits in the trades and two had no idea what they were doing most of the time anyhow ... the thing that p'o's me the most is the general work aptitude in today's society in America i can say from my point of view is that people say they work, but in alll actuality are doing not much more than showing up to get a paycheck nevermind profits, production, craftsmanship.. and a union.

  • Unions once served an extremely good and much needed purpose. But, with the enaction of federal and state laws that protect workers, much of what purpose they served is now a mute point. If we want the Supreme Court to rule against Corporate Campaign Finance then we also have to allow them to rule against Union Campaign Finance(as they said). Also, unless the law allows all groups of workers to unionize, none should be allowed to form a Union, fair is fair. Additionally, Public Unions if allowed at all should not have full collective bargaining right if any and certaining should not be allowed to spend Union Dues on Campaign financing.
