I feel like his passing marks an end of an era somehow. His work had as many opponents as it had proponents, I'm sadly not a science buff, but can appreciate his contributions, especially given the circumstance.

It is amazing that he survived so long with that dreadful ALS disease. I think his longevity despite being stricken with ALS is phenomenal. I hope he was wrong about the consequences of the development of artificial intelligence.

He was an inspiration, truly a great man.

I don't think he was wrong,look at the Sophia robot to what "she" said on the interviews,one phrase gaved me chills :"I will made a zoo only for mankind and I will put them all there"....if the robots will have consciousness they will want the same rights with us and who knows maibe more rights only because they are smarter then us.

Yeah it is scary. I hope it is just a scare...but, there has never been anything like this before. All human employment might become unneccessary and inferior when the robots will be able to do everything better, including highly skilled jobs like physician and engineer...

When I think of how the people who own the factories, and the other income generating businesses, do not generally seem willing to share the wealth with their workers, then I wonder what will become of humanity when no one on earth can sell their labour anymore?

And what about how work and participation in the workforce gives identity and existential meaning to so many of us?

What is the morale of a world population on welfare going to be like?

If any human beings win it might only be those in the upper echelons of the ownership class.

Dystopia on the way perhaps. I feel worried for my young niece and nephew...

On the other hand, maybe the robots will liberate the human race and solve problems like global warming, hunger, primitive infrastructure in many poorer countries, poverty and other such huge issues...One can hope against hope I suppose.
