    A 17yr old girl was pregnant. 
    She didn't drink, smoke or do drugs.
    She had regular doctor appointments.
    Baby was stillborn.. Spina Bifida.

    Mom loved the baby and put a photo of her deceased baby on facebook.

    A teacher in my state found the photo and used it for 2 semesters in her drug and alcohol class showing the photo and saying 'This is what can happen if you drink or do drugs while pregnant'.

    This semester as she held up the photo and proceeded to tell what happened to the baby, the sister of the dead baby's mom was in class.  surprise
    She went to the teacher and said not only was she giving wrong information, Spida Bifidia is not caused from drinking or drugging, but that was her niece in the photo and her sister had never drank or done drugs.

    What did the teacher do?  Shredded the photo in front of the sister.

    The news covered it and the superintendent, of course, covered for the teacher saying essentially..it was an oops...

    That must have been quite embarrassing for that teacher... I guess more than an apology is due.

    a teacher should know better and make sure they do proper research beforehand, a sad story that a teacher made worse sad

    but saying that the teacher probly would have got away with it if she didnt have the niece in her class, but still teachers should do full research before preaching information to children if that information is not true

    Oops...my arse exclamation Shame on that teacher exclamation I understand the need to educate our young people about the dangers of drinking and drugging during a pregnancy but to use that pic was soooo wrong.
