  • I'd like to tell a story that happened to me recently.
Seems it happens like this to some people everywhere somewhere.
Back in December i won a raffle at a land casino , it was a 5 grand prize, well as you can figure i lived it up that night quite well with the best cigars, beers and 25 dolllar slots..
Well thinking ahead i was quite happy and content that night .. Wellllll
the next day i went on a shopping trip.. spending some of my winnings .
And for the luck to happen in such a way .. i come home to find my apartment building on fire exclamation!
Losing half of my belongings and since am recovering from my losses today, i can tell ya up one day down the next , how does this happen ? We never know the next day or hour , but at least we have the moment.

  • Sorry to hear that Timwilcob.  At least you weren't in that fire smiley  Be grateful    angel

That's the challenge, to have something bad happen to you and bounce back (and still be able to enjoy life.)  Keep looking up!

  • I hate the up/down thing.  A few years back, my husband had moved away.  My best friend, David, though, came back after a lengthy absence.  So I was starting to be happy.
Then someone shot and killed him, and I was so devastated and alone. He was only 26, and was the second 26 year old person close to me that was shot and killed.  In fact, I had met him when he was around 8, right after my fiance had been killed at age 26.  It was creepy and sad.
A couple of weeks later, my husband came home.  I was soooo happy to see him.  The next day, he borrowed my car and never came back.  3 days later they found him dead in a parking lot in my car, where he had been the whole 3 days.  I just about gave up on the whole world at that time.

    yet, here I am...

Tim, I hope you continue to grow and recover and things are even better than ever for you soon.

  • It's the ups and downs in life that make us strong. Not only that it gives us character and wisdom. We all survive in what we think is our darkest hour and will never recover, but some how we do.

We may never forget, but we learn how to cope especially with horrific events in some peoples lives. Your a pillar of strength chilly. And your strength lies in your sense of humor.

Tim this too shall pass and it just makes us better prepared for the all peaks and valleys ahead of us.

    Lips
  • Chilly that was a tough time indeed , i am grateful you have made it past the time smiley  And both of you thank you for your encouragement .
