That was fortunate (Silly Posting)

So, this afternoon (It's 3 pm here) I wanted some more coffee (I'm doing homework) and so I loaded up the coffeemaker and sat down. After 5 minutes I look and see...Nohting???

I get up and check the "Hotplate" (Bottom of the coffeemaker) and yes, it's cold. Sadly my coffeemaker has bit the dust. Now what? I can go to a local store, but I DON'T want to go, I want coffee NOW!!

Then I remembered I hadn't tossed an older coffeemaker...I went to my car (Yeah, I left it there while moving) and got it out. Lucky for me, nobody had cared to steal it (Trunk lock doesn't work) and so it's back now serving a purpose.

I'll go buy another tomorrow, but I was happy now. Just fortunate, I'll use this one as a backup as it's only a 10 cup and I REALLY need one of those 10 gallon types...Yeah...128 cups of power...

Oh Gene: I am a serious coffee drinker, and I felt your pain when I read your post. haha.

Thank goodness you had a back-up coffee machine in the car. 


I have a BUNN that I use about three times daily, and I know it is on it's last legs too.  I do not have an extra BUNN laying around so I dont have a back up. 

If and when this thing goes out will be a sad day. lol

LOL.. this is funny.. just today i went to go make coffee and as i was cleaning out my pot my hand slipped and i brokey my caffe .. i'd have to go all the way into the mall which is 15 miles from me in this gat dern heat!

I have NO back up!!!! I was in such a frenzy, in dissaray, i thought today was going to be a disaster, the world was ending... aaaaahhhh  :'(

Then i got the bright idea...

So what i did was, when it broke it was to the 2 cup limit, so i used the bottom of it and used a fork to push in the pausen'serve and wella i got coffee in my 2 cup brokey caffe 

I'm so smart..

OHHH I completely sympathize with you guys.  I LOVE my coffee, it is my one thing I must have in the morning, and sometimes at night if I'm working late.  Glad you found another Gene, and Imagin you are so funny!

Good gosh in my frenzy and panic about not having my coffee.. i spelled carafe wrong... forgot the R, see what it can do to someone?

If I didn't have my coffee, it wouldn't be pretty. I used to drink ALOT of it, but now maybe 2-3 cups a day...I also LOVE the Rockstar Coffee energy drinks...240mg caffeine BABY!

Well you can't just monkey the hell out of that and make it all better. Unfortunately, it will take a lot more than a fork and some quick thinking to reach a sense of normalcy again there. Very, very sorry to hear about your tragedy.

You could try some duct tape.

No, but I'll say this. You can (Depending on store, usually WM is best) buy only the carafe replacement instead of a whole new coffeemaker.

Well i have a Bunn which i love thats all i ever have used, took it with me to Cali and left it there accidently.. just tired and not thinking, so i had to break out this Mr Coffee.. but i brokey the carafe, i think i might make the investment in another carafe or another coffee maker incase something like this happens again, i'll soon have my Bunn back

Genenco.. glad you have a new maker, whew.. what would we do without coffee.. seriously we'd need therapy to be without, coffee and the maker becomes so apart of us...
