The Christmas countdown.

Hi everyone!! Today is the first day of Dec and for me this is when I really start planning for Christmas.    When do you start Do you get a early start or are you a procrastinator       It seems no matter how early I try to get everything done,the next thing I know it's Dec.23rd or 24th and I find I should have started a month earlier because NO WAY am I ready

i am one of those that goes at the very last minute.. total opposite of what my mom taught me.. she'd start right after christmas.. lol collect all year long.. but ME of forget it, i'm shopping on the 24th, when you can only get the last pickin's, lookin' like it's been ruffled through or stepped on, finding just what you want then see the display empty or the last one has a tennis shoe footprint on it.. sometimes i can find really good deals.. BUT when it just comes down to it we have the last resort which is giftcards!.. i should know by now, but this is a lesson i can never learn, shopping on those days makes it really feel like christmas..

I came up with my great idea. I have to buy for 5 people, so I'm buying Gift cards in the $20, $30, $40, $50 and $100 dollar amounts, then mix them up and randomly give them to family. (Sister, husband and kids (3)) and whoever gets it, keeps it. I'll be out $240 which is pretty good (It averages out to $48 per person) so let the fun begin!

I am done with my kids shopping.  I will get my nieces gift cards to Claire's, which they love.  My husband and I don't buy for each other and the adults in our family don't buy for each other, either.  We just want to make sure the kids have fun.

I don't try to get ready for Christmas, I just hope to avoid the shopping frenzy and just spend a few nice days with my family.

I am a procrastinator through and through. I have been known to finish up shopping on Christmas Eve and don't even talk to me about gift wrapping. I tried buying those gift boxes with a snowman or something on it. Taping it closed and adding a bow. It didn't go over well with the family. I got all kinds of flack for not wrapping. 

I am done.  Did the last of it today.  First time in years I am done on 12/2.  It is a great feeling.

And froggy, I use gift bags.  They are the greatest thing ever invented.
