The latest from the Gunnylab zoo

I have lived in this house since 1987 and back then it wasnt the greatest of areas of Cincinnati to live in. When I got married in 1983 we moved to a suburb called Forest Park because the school system had the best learning disability setup in Cincinnati.  Even though Forest Park has gone down the tubes alot of people have been in their houses 30 to 50 years on my street.  I have never locked my house up  when Ive run errands or even when Ive beenn gone for a weekend.  I got a call a week ago from my neighbor Ive been the closest to for over 20 years.  3 houses on the other side of the street were broken into.  2 were in foreclosure and 1 the owners moved into assistant living.  The house was empty.  Lottie Lab is the barker from hell.  She sits and looks out the front window all day barking at everything.  The problem is she is useless from dusk to dawn.  She never makes a sound when its dark outside.  I have to scrape her butt off the couch at 1am for her final pee.  My same neighbor called me last nite to tell me 2 houses overnight had their copper pipes removed from their airconditioning units.  The 3 breakins all the copper piping in the basements were removed. 

I held a family meeting last nite.  I was informed by Lottie Lab that her adoption papers state she doesnt work nights.  If u havent guessed already I was forced to assign the mini pigs joint heads of security at night.  Their response was typical.  After the meeting was adjourned they ran to their assigned spots in front of their plastic swimming pool then started screaming for lettuce.  Needless to say security is still an issue at my house unless the mini pigs come thru.

Sorry Gunnylab but this did make me laugh.  I realise being broken into is not something to laugh at but your last paragraph did tickle me.

I hope you stay safe and you're not broken into.  It must be very scary.  I think you need to change Lotties contract to includes nights (as and when necessary)!

I am not scared because I figured out something the police havent.  All the breakins are on the other side of the street.  I think its not a coincidence.  The burglers are using the culdesacs behind the houses across the street as their escape routes.  Easy in, easy out.  My 78 year old next door neighbor cleaned his handgun yesterday.  Its loaded and ready.  One interesting point.  The day before this all started even though I had cut my grass 3 days earlier a black teenager knocked at the front door and wanted to know if I wanted my grass cut.  My guess is he was casing houses for someone.  My big black dog went nuts when the knock occured so I think we r safe.
