Tipping the cocktail server at the Casino

What i find amazing is the number of people who order a FREE soft drink or coffee and do not tip the server. Now if anyone should be tipped it's the server. They really are relying on tips for income.

When i order a drink, no matter what it is i always tip the server. In my observation i would say that 85-90% do not tip the server. I don't know how they survive on a customers that don't tip.

I always make sure i have singles when i head out to the casino for tips. I am curious to know if anyone does not tip them and the reason they don't.

I agree.  These ladies are having to really hustle for their living.  I say give the gal at last a buck$ when you ORDER.  They all seem VERY overworked.  As the land based casinos continue to loose money, they cut back on staff like the servers.  Unfortunately, a lot of people I see in Atlantic City are creepy and cheap. 

I ALWAYS tip the waitress. She is running around, carrying a really heavy tray and is always smiling regardless of her situation. Have you seen a land based casino on a Saturday night? These girls WORK. I cant imagine what the thought process is of someone who wouldnt tip. I too make sure I have singles available just for that purpose.  Besides, it truely is a convienence for me to not have to get up and leave my machine to get a drink. Those places are hot and stuffy, I need that waitress to come and save me, and she always does.    TIP THE WAITRESS.

I agree these servers really hustle for a tip. They don't even make minimum wage! Their livelyhood depends on us. I feel way to guilty not to tip..and i see peeps not even battin an eye lash that they couldn't cough up a measly buck.

Drinks are free and they are serving you and they do deserve a tip! I ALWAYS tip my server (I use to do that for a living so I know what it is like). Trust me....until you have done it for a living, you have no idea how taxing and frustrating it can be, especially when a customer just runs you to death. You just smile and take it because it is your job and no matter how pissed off someone makes you it is your livelyhood. I always tip, no matter how bad the server is...10% (poor service), 15% (mediocre service), 20% (good service), 25% and up (great service). No matter how bad the service is, the server deserves as tip. They are trying their hardest....and you gotta understand...sometimes the quality of the service may have some underlying circumstances that you just don't know about.

When I'm winning I like to give her 5 bucks...love the look on her face.   Plus then she always makes sure I have a drink.  She will also go get me something right away if she she doesnt have it on her tray.

Also the valet guy.  At my casino they practically run to get your car and also to park it. They always wish me "Good Luck"

I was also a waitress a long time ago.  Only did it for 3 months its a hard job. 

The last time I was at the land casino I remembered this post and tipped extra to my waitress. I know it is a tuff job and they so deserve it. I got drinks plentiful the rest of the night. Imagine that. A little kindness goes such a long way.  They are so appreciative.
