    OMG, we just got a tornado warning for my county and a dust storm warning for the county next to us at the same time. I live in Phoenix - we don't have tornadoes, we don't have basements, and most of our houses are chicken wire and stucco!! These storms are getting crazier and crazier

    BE CAREFUL HUN!!!  I can deal with earthquakes, I would freak out for sure over a tornado warning.

    Thank you Shelli & TAADAA. The whole state has now been put under a state of emergency by the governor - tornado warnings for my county, flood warnings for several counties and winter storm warnings for others.

    we have 3 interstates closed - 2 for snow and ice, and I8 which takes us to San Diego is closed 'cuz the high winds tipped over 5 semi's.

    The radar looks like the storms may be breaking up so hopefully it will not be as bad as it looks

    I remember working in MO one night had 5 super cells come over. Not one let off a tornado when they did, but afterward, was a mess...Plus, we lost power and they actually wanted us to drive home and not stay...

    They expired the earlier tornado warnings - they are now just watches. They're reporting that a tornado actually touched down in the north part of the city which is the opposite side of town from me.
    Right now, it is relatively calm, but more is on the way.
    It's being called the storm of the century!!

    Glad the warnings are over. Hope your out of the woods. I know tornado warnings can be so frightening especially where its in areas that are not prepared or use to these kinds of storms.

    "Storm of the century" - that's very worrying.

    I hope it goes away completely for yours and everyone's sake. 

    We rarely see them here in the UK but we do get really high winds and I can't even imagine how scary that must be.

    The worst of the storm is over, it was not quite as bad as predicted, worse storm in 17 years rather than worse storm of the century. 1 tornado touched down in the city but didn't really do any damage, and another one touched down on the Ca/Az border - in Blythe, CA.

    Lots of flooding with several evacuations, many closed roads including interstates, some mud slides, rock slides, lots of wind damage, lots of snow in higher elevations, many power outages. The rain is tapering off, but the flood warnings are still in place for a while.

    There is a lot of damage, but it doesn't involve human lives which is very good thing.

    Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. I know that these storms have also battered California and I hope everyone there is ok.
