By the end of June 2018, a responsible gambling message or a reference to the website of the GambleAware charity must appear throughout all TV adverts.
This is over and above the measures introduced before, such as no material that 'might' appeal to children. As if children see a casino ad, to which they can do nothing but stare since they are not allowed to play, could be that harmful. The effect is that such brands as Rizk, Royal Panda, and Casumo cannot feature their cartoons/animal characters in their adverts anywhere in the UK!
Is gambling this dangerous as to treat it like someone is handling acid? Why can't we get the adverts we want to see in peace and let us decide what is dangerous and what not? Does it take a big brother to tell us that the money we bet might be lost?
I really hope gambling regulators around the world will not follow suit.
