unrelated topic but ...

Hi everybody. I'm a newbie so I'll post a new post to say hello to everyone. I don't know what to discuss, so I'll create a slightly unrelated topic. What do you think about the war between Russia and Ukraine?

I think that it's an absolute disgrace and I can't believe that I'm witnessing something like this in the 21st century. You would think that the painful experiences from the past are enough for people to understand that war can't solve anything. 

Sending people to die and kill others in an unjust war is probably the worst possible thing a human being can do. 

I agree with you Johnny Karp, it's horrible we are witnessing the war in the 21st century and that humankind has not evolved enough to learn that the war will just bring so many innocent people killed. Eventually, the leaders will somehow manage to find any solution whenever, on the other hand, as a result, so many families will be without their beloved ones and I must mention the effects of exposure to the bomb's radiation on the survivors. Unfortunately, we will not be able to go back in time...Hope this nightmare will end up at the soonest time possible.

I agree, one of the saddest things to witness during the 21st century. We would think at least after Covid and what the world went through these times, the worlds future would change, their approach dealing with a crisis as well as feuds between countries. I thought Covid somehow made the world realize, lives matter. Now innocent people are being sacrificed for the sole purpose an individuals personal vendetta or agenda? Nato Nato Nato, Yeah right, I personally believe he wants more control in general.

With that said - I always had this notion that "War" creates money in some way - Not saying this applies here, just a general observation.

The same way I felt the US bombed themselves in 2001 - most probably to create a war against " we know who", but at the end, that started a war and war makes somehow money.

Just very disgusted that innocent people are the aftermath of these wars with the sole intend of my notion!

As I am stating, nothing is factual of what I am saying, this is just my personal opinion.

I was only 13years old,  but my parents already lost 30 years of their lives when we finally got our freedom on the 9.of November 1989. As Putin did his speech 3 weeks ago about creating a Europe like it was before 1989 I had doubts about not his, but my sanity, because it felt like a Robert Harris or Ken follet story  becoming real. 

We all know what happened after that, stil is happening just now. I don't need to explain it we all see it live just now. 

But one question we kept asking since he gave his speech we have know our answer. Putin is not gone nuts or crazy not one little bit. He is dead serious about his "plan" for Europe. 

You absolutely right. Catastrophe and human suffering create money It doesn't matter what's causing it natural or man-made. There is a word for it and the industry built on it. Disaster Capitalism.  Check out "The Schock Doctrine.The Rise of Disaster Capitalism" by Naomi Klein. Very informative book on the topic
