  • Hi Guys and Dolls,

This week a human foot was found in a gym shoe on the Seattle shoreline. What is more bizarre is it's the 15th human foot in a gym shoe to surface since 2007 within a 125 mile radius along the Pacific Northwest coastline.

According to Barb McLintock, a spokeswoman for the British Columbia Coroners Service there is "non suspicious deaths"  and  result of accident or suicides.

After the investigation they have a theory as to what is happening:

“We found there is nothing suspicious in any of them."

“It appears that the feet become disarticulated from the body naturally with time, as the bodies decompose and are eaten by sea life or other marine organisms.”

Ok so the next obvious question is why are they ending up on shore?

“The answer to that, we believe, is that the material in the running shoes or hiking boots is too tough for anything to eat through, and some of them have air in them or rubber soles that cause them to float,” McLintock said.

But why so many found along this shoreline?

Human feet are found on beaches all over the world according to McLintock but this shoreline is uniquely suited for such discoveries because of circular currents that carry debris through the intricate coastal waterways.

All but 2 feet were able to be identified bringing closure to victims families one of which was  fisherman who had disppeared in 1987 – 25 years before his foot was found.

Do you think this case is closed or should remain open? You be the judge!

Please feel free to share any other mysterious cases. Maybe together we can solve them  wink

  • That's quite bizarre indeed, good thing they have DNA testing and all sorts of forensic tools to find the identity of those victims.

  • Very bizarre indeed.  I guess if they have explanations for all but two, then no,  the case can't be closed.  I find it incredible that the shoe with the fisherman's foot in was found after 25 years.

  • Weird things happens, but I'm sure that with modern forensic technologies, they can successfully solve the mystery.

  • I read about this.  Has anyone read about the kidney disease 'mystery' in the sugarcane fields?  Ummm, it's common knowledge in the medical field (or so I thought) that prolonged periods of dehydration can cause highly concentrated urine, in turn causing kidney/liver failure.  So outside all day in fields, with little to drink, chewing on a sugar cane.....  Good thing this isn't rocket science, maybe they should just let us dog nurses handle these things haha!

  • Wow all these things are very tragic but i am glad at least one person got closure from it.

  • That is a good one jodi! I wonder how long it took the medical industry to figure that one out considering its pure common sense! But then again it really doesn't matter how long or how much it cost because they simply pass that expense on to us!

  • Lips it kills me!  There is a feline disease called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus that mimics human HIV.  FIV for short.  It is no secret in the veterinary community that we do not test kittens at a very young age because they can 'shed' the disease, and thus present a 'false' positive.  So a few months back there was all this hoopla about the human baby being 'cured' of HIV.  Uhhhhhh, this is not surprising to anyone in the Veterinary Medicine field.  The baby wasn't cured, it was never going to carry the disease in the first place.  Facepalm.

  • Wow that is unbelievable! I can only imagine what all we are led to believe including not discovering cures for diseases. Is there really no cures or would it hurt the medical and pharmaceutical industry from making big bucks............ya got to really wonder. We can send men to the moon, build weaponry that with a click of a switch can wipe-out man kind, deflect nuclear bombs from target cities in one simple click yet we can't find the cure for cancer or diabetes for example.

  • Big pharma is definitely playing a HUGE role about what we can and can't research and find a cure for.  There is actually a cure that just came out for Hepatitis C, which if anyone here is GenX I'm sure you know a few parents that have been diagnosed with this.  The kicker is that the cure is like 90 grand, and since they have a patent the price will not go down anytime soon.  Is the cure cheaper than supportive therapy?  In the long run, absolutely.  But for people with no insurance, you're gonna die of it.

  • Murica.

  • Bedford County, Virgina

It's a beautiful landscape but there is something beyond that rainbow and if you never believed there was a pot gold waiting the other side think again!

It has one of the largest treasures in US history buried here filled with gold, silver and jewels. The treasure was discovered by Thomas Jefferson Beale in 1818 while prospecting in Colorado.

Crack the three Beale ciphertext codes and you can be rich beyond your dreams. As of today only one has been cracked revealing the treasure is buried in Bedford County, VA.

The county is a sprawling 769 square miles (1,990 km2).  753 square miles (1,950 km2) is land and the other is 16 square miles (41 km2) (2.1%) of water.

Many treasure hunters have been in hot pursuit to find it as it still goes undiscovered!

Jodi you have struck an emotional cord having lost a loved one to Hep C.........too painful to even discuss. But i don't doubt for a minute there is a cure out there.
  • Lips I am so sorry to hear about that loss, Hep C is something that just sickens me to my core because I truly believe that many of those cases (mostly the ones acquired through a blood transfusion) could have been prevented.  Please take solace in knowing that in about 5 years that there should be an affordable cure for everyone out there.  Oh, and the cure right now is much cheaper overseas than it is here in the US.

    WTH??

15 human feet in a gym shoe show up on the shoreline over a period of time and they are not suspicious????

    WTH??

I can't believe these all were accidents or suicides.  Really?  Fish decide to eat a single foot, get full and move on...time after time?

Sounds to me like a twisted serial killer on the loose.
