Hi Guys and Dolls,Have we gone too far with being "sue happy"?An actress is suing Amazon.com for revealing her age in a public profile when she signed up at Internet Movie Data Base (IMDb). The Asian actress from Texas who chooses to remain unanimous asked for her age to be removed but was denied. She is seeking $75,000 in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages."If one is perceived to be 'over-the-hill,' i.e., approaching 40, it is nearly impossible for an up-and-coming actress, such as the plaintiff, to get work as she is thought to have less of an 'upside,' therefore, casting directors, producers, directors, agents-manager, etc. do not give her the same opportunities, regardless of her appearance or talent," the lawsuit states.The lawsuit states that because of this the actress is missing out on acting jobs that she may have gotten on her otherwise youthful appearance. This is crazy! She surely filled in her date of birth herself when signing up and, if you ask me, that means agreeing to that data to be displayed.

I would think that they have some sort of account settings where you can hide your dob and keep that private. The fact that she is remaining anonymous will help - she just needs to either delete the date or hide it from view.

No I don't think she should win the case - it's ridiculous.

I think it's rediculous too...

She is an actress who is frustrated she can't get an actress job (if she needs a job she needs money) and is blaming it on amazon instead of addressing herself as to why she isn't getting hired, we've all seen many actresses and actors who are over 40 who make the bucks with their skills
