    The more i look at this video the more i wonder if it is real!! This a a whole watermelon going full force at her face....wouldn't you think that would knock her out cold?

    And the girl watching was so calm and nonchalant, like the show must go on!

    Yes, this is a show.  For camera effect, they must do all they can to ensure a nice explosion!

    Most likely, all the watermelons were set-up and pre-cut in such a way that any bit of impact would cause them to split.  The watermelons' rinds were probably cut and carved just deep enough so that they were still intact for pre-launch, but with the slightest pressure upon impact would burst.
    Notice how with her 1st shot at :14 that hit the flag, theres all that spray...that melon opened up!  No regular watermelon would break open hitting a flag on a thin yielding pole!
