Earthquake in Japan knocked the earth's axis off by 10". I would think it would be a serious thing. Why we didn't go spinning out in space somewhere? Experts are claiming it will take centuries before it is noticable. Effecting the weather and we going to lose time with days shorter. What happens when there is another earthquake will it throw it off more.

I wanted to bring to your attention another scam casino that seems to have launched yesterday, as their licensing shows a date from that day.

Hi 2fast,
When i heard that on the news i was like a frantic maniac wanting to know what that meant on a global level. From what i read the scientists are saying that in the bigger picture, 10" is nothing given the size of earth.
It is a scary thought to go spinning out of control towards the sun. Ahhh well, we might as well live for today and spin spin spin on the slots instead!! -

The 10" is true and scientists hope that with satellites, they can actually measure this bit as the earth does "Wobble" during the cycles.
But I'm not too worried. I'll be watching the movie 2012 in 2013. And laughing anyway. Things yet to come will do so. To be in fear of them, is to be afraid of living and enjoying life. -

Folks....lets get the facts straight. Please read below. There is a big difference between 17 centemeters and a 10 degree axis shift!

The calculations also show the Japan quake should have shifted the position of Earth's figure axis (the axis about which Earth's mass is balanced) by about 17 centimeters (6.5 inches), towards 133 degrees east longitude. Earth's figure axis should not be confused with its north-south axis; they are offset by about 10 meters (about 33 feet). This shift in Earth's figure axis will cause Earth to wobble a bit differently as it rotates, but it will not cause a shift of Earth's axis in space-only external forces such as the gravitational attraction of the sun, moon and planets can do that - -

Holly Quacamollie Mind Doc, I gotta go find my Einstien cap.....................I can't find it!!! You want to discuss gravataional attraction with external forces, versus a earth (world) wobble???
I must find my Einstein Cap!!, I can't remember where I put it......I'm sure your aware, in discussing these important issues, one must throw in the theory of pie, ( or fye). Relativity Man, you know, E=mc squared.
Goood God man, WORLD WOBBLE, I gotta find my Einstein Cap!!
Please continue, while I look for my Cap.

The planet is going through changes, the same changes as in the past.
Granted, during the previous pole shifts, humans were not around to witness it; we rely on the geological record.
The moon started a close-approach on March 19th.
The last one was April 1989, remember the Loma Prieta Earthquake of April 17th, during the "Battle of the Bay" Series in San Francisco?
Humans are ego-centric, we believe that we are the cause of everything that is happening; even the alleged Brown-Dwarf in our solar system exists because humans found it.
The earth existed just fine before humans and when our time is over, she will exist just fine without us! -

Thats right wnanhee ,My twin sister is so afraid of things happening like that when it comes to the eath either hit by a meteor or shifting on its axis.I told her not to worry so much about things like that and, that
Somebody said to me one time ..."When we are without fear do we truely start to live" Why live every day thinking about the end? that would be a waiste of life in my opinion. -

Hi Lips...
Isn't it unbelievably amazing? the more you know/find about planet, almost everything seems like a mystery...even with my old rusty brain, I find myself so fascinated by them.
Anyway, some scientists theorize the Brown Dwarf star is a dead star that is in our galaxy and has been for hundreds of thousands of years.
The star, which is much larger than the earth, is making it's slow approach towards earth.
Unfortunately, we cannot see it with telescopes as it does not reflect light.
Scientists have witnessed an unusual change in one of Saturn's moons, a complete reversal in it's orbit; first ever witnessed.
The theory I came to understand is that a large star caused this effect by changing the gravitational orbit and will, most likely, cause severe gravitational problems once it reaches the earth.
Supposedly, we can see it with radar once it passes the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Soo soo true,Diane!
I don't know if I am getting too old or just maybe I am learning more of life than before.
Things happening all around the world now these days make me realize how much I have been granted that I will always be here and it is just another day.
I was reminded these past few weeks from what happened in Japan, my whole family always living in a fear thinking there will be another war in our home country and we will never be able go back there, that I should never take life for granted because it can be taken from me at any given time...
I really think life is definitely about choices and we can choose how to live our life on our own terms whether it gives you satisfaction or bit of regret...
I have been thinking to live my life with joy, then joy is what I will have in my entire life.
I don't believe I have ever given that any thought before...not seriously I must admit.
I noticed that if I am always miserable and complaining, then I am always miserable and complain about everything.
All we can do is try our best to love our loved ones and remembering how blessed we are. -

Hey sorry guys for the wrong data. 10 degrees not inches. Everyone has the right idea we got to live and let live. Like people who stockpile on canned goods and bottled water preparing for a crisis. Getting through day to day life is enough to handle for me. Anyone dug an underground tunnel yet?
