An Italian man, arrested on suspicion of mafia activity, is now questioned by the police because he gave out hundreds of mobile phones to try to bring his daughter success in a television talent show.
Domenico Ferrara, aged 56, is the leader of a clan in the Camorra network, which operates in the Naples region. Some 300 phones were found that had been used to send text messages to vote for his daughter. Mr Ferrara's 13-year-old daughter was on the show and despite his father's efforts she came in second.
Apparently the phones were sent out by Mr. Ferrara's men with clear instructions on how they should be used and then returned to the organisation in order to check if those who received the phones did their job in voting for the leader's daughter.
I think Joe Pesci might be able to play this man's character if a movie is ever made after this story
