Hey everyone,
I was out with my husband yesterday and this man was walking down the street. As he walked by people on the street he was telling them to F off. Every single person got it including us. One guy started yelling back. We grabbed a cab and as we were coming down the street we saw him again. He was slamming his hands down on the cars waiting at the traffic light. When he got to us he screamed something obnoxious to the driver with his face pressed against the car window.
My husband starts saying how angry it made him. He would tell that guy a thing or two. He clearly had major issues. You don't mess with crazy and I told my hubby how ridiculous he sounded getting mad over that.
It got me to thinking about what most people would do. Would he make you angry and provoke you or would you run the other way?

I'd be appalled, that's for sure, but talk back to him?! Nooooo, crazy people are not my cup of tea when it comes to arguing - there's simply no point in doing so. I'm much more into an intellectual, more philosophical kind of dispute.

Now, seriously, the best thing to do is call any sort of emergency service that could get him off the street, where he's so clearly a threat to others. -

It could be that he suffers with Tourette syndrome or commonly called Tourettes which means his actions may well have been out of his control.
Was what he was doing repetitive? Did he keep doing the same thing and saying the same thing? It's very sad because they know they are doing it but they can't stop themselves.
I wouldn't have done anything without being sure if he was just plain angry and barking (crazy) or suffering from tourettes.

I think I would have called 911 as he was clearly going to either harm someone or get harmed himself. The hollering of epithets while bad enough may not have made me call, but the physical hitting of cars and stepping into traffic would have. I sure would not have approached him personally or tried to reason with him.

He definitely seemed like he was not with us. I've encountered those with Tourettes and he didn't strike me as having it. I'm no doctor but he was very angry and aggressive. Something wasn't right that's for sure.
Then I probably would have called the police. The best that could have happened would be that the police could either reason with him and see him off on his way or he was locked up for the night.
Must have been quite scary Froggy.

I'm sorry you and your hubby experienced that froggy, thats really dangerous, dont know what he could of done, pulled out a shotgun, bomb.. anything, i would of been more frightened than angry, i would of gotten away then called police, theres not much else you could do, trying to stop him would of been no use and could of caused harm to you or others, definetly he skipped his med or something caused him to snap, maybe he was an escapee from the psycho ward.. hopefully they got him off the streets, he's a sick man and could of gotten hurt not even knowing what happened to himself..
Tourettes syndrome aren't caused to be angry they just spirt out foul words spontaneously in a normal conversation
