  • Hiya Guys and Dolls,

In a recent survey of  2000 women, here is the results of jealousy:

19% don’t really trust their husband
13% of their husbands get jealous if they talk to another man
12% stated neither of them trusts the other

Though only 44% claim to have trust issues, the results of the next few questions tell a different story.

53% of women secretly check his phone and email messages
53% flirt to make him jealous
77% would be jealous if her husband had a close, platonic friend

Seventy-three percent of women admitted to feeling jealous, as opposed to 27 percent of men.

Now i find that hard to believe!!! I think women probably admit it more than men?

Who do you think is more jealous men or women?

  •   I don't know if it's men or women, but I do know that it's an ugly emotion. It's one that really needs to be controlled. Once out of hand one can and will be jealous of everything and everybody. I may be jealous of alot, but at least I can appreciate what it, he or she is. And if at all possible take something good from it and apply it to myself.

  • Hi Helwin,

That is a great way to look at it. "Take something good from it" I think we all can be pushed to the brink when faced with feeling threatened.

Some people are just more naturally jealous then others. Would be curious to know why it varies from one person to the next. Is it up bringing, life's experiences or genetic?

We all get jealous at one point or another....its the human condition!! Men too are no strangers to it!

  • Jealousy is a bad thing...mostly.  And I am afraid women tend to experience that emotion more.

  • In my case I think men. My ex-husband was insanely jealous to the point it was unbearable. That is not the only fault he had nor is it the worst. He was abusive. I on the other hand am not a jealous person. I trust my husband totally and I will until he gives me a reason not to. Even if he cheated on me I would not want to get even and would not be vindictive, I would just end the relationship and move on. I don't want to hang on to someone I can't trust.

  • Sorry to hear that deb about your ex. I think that most of the abuse does derive out of jealousy. It's particularly bad to be accuse of cheating when your not or even glancing at someone can spark a war.

I am glad you got out and your happy now.

Not to mention every guy that looked my way, and don't even have them say anything, he would want to beat them up sad.. may other things he did.. trust.. jealousy... whatever it was.. this emotion controlled him in everyway.. it was ugly..sick.. and made me sick sad

I know exactly what you are saying. This sounds real familiar to me. I went for counseling because he was driving me nuts and the guy I talked to told me he had an insecurity  problem. Jealousy is a sickness.
  • You nailed it deb, it is all about insecurity! Its in all sectors of life. Not just jealousy of a friend, but work force and friends as well. It is an equal opportunity destroyer!
