  • My old laptop went to puter heaven so i had to get a new one. I was a bit nervous because it had Windows 10 and was the first time using it.

I think it is more user friendly to adapt than Windows 8 was. I did have one problem with it though. My internet kept shutting down and after a bit of research solved the problem.

Has anyone downloaded Windows 10 yet, if so curious how everyone likes it and feedback!

  • I have Windows 7 on my PC which I use every day.  I can update to Windows 10 free, but I am reluctant to do so as Windows 7 works fine for me.

I also have a laptop that has Windows 8 on it.  I only use it when I am away from home.  Here too, I can update it to Windows 10, but haven't done it yet.

I would be interested to hear feedback from others too before I take the big step!

  • I have planned to install these days.Does anybody knows,is there big difference if I just upgrade it,instead of clear installation?

  • I upgraded on my friends computer (with his permission) that i borrowed before i got a new one and it was no problem at all. The only thing i will say at least on this laptop was it took a verrrrrrrrrry long time to install. I am talking hours, so you may have to plan on not having your laptop available for few hours or longer.

As far as Windows 10 navigation, it is super easy and i think it was a main focus to have it that way after so many complaints on the last upgrade. Now the Shut down/Restart is right where it use to be before Windows 8 for one thing and it requires really no help to figure anything out.

Don't be afraid and just do it!

  • Thank You lipstick for Your feedback. Unfortunately I have to buy a new notebook asap but I'm really afraid of the WIN10.

  • Thank you, Lips, for starting this thread - I think it'll be really helpful and useful!!!!

I've also been wary of installing 10, so I haven't done it yet.  Not crazy about 8 at all, which I have.

  • Windows 10 is a step forward from Windows 8, much better and user-friendly. It will need some getting used to as some features are not where they used to be (control panel for instance), but overall it's a solid operating system, you should upgrade to it with no fear.

  • I skipped Windows 8, been working on Windows 7 for a very long time. I have to say that I regret changing it to Windows 10. Update would be a wrong word to use. It is full of bugs, and there's always something wrong with it. At one point, I got so irritated that I wrote them a complaint. smiley

It's been working ok for a couple of weeks now, but every update plays havoc with my laptop.

  • I use Windows 10 for some time and I can say that is a little more stable but as usual ; the device used must have more RAM . Cortana is helpful and fun .

  • I am still on Windows 7 and have no intention of ever 'upgrading' to 8 or 10 due to both privacy and usability concerns. When this laptop finally dies, it will be time for me to switch to Apple or Linux.

  • I am still using Windows 7 too. Maybe I will change to 10 if I buy me a new lap top smiley

  • I upgraded my win 7 to win10 once it was available (like 5 months ago I think) - and it was terrible. The most annoying this was that my "hot keys" in notebook didn't work (you know, volume up/down, music buttons etc.). I just switched back to win 7 for like 3 months and 2 months ago I upgraded to win10 once again, hoping that my issues got solved already. And yeah, now it works perfectly. Perhaps it uses a little bit more RAM but I never use more than 50-60% of it anyway... waiting for directX12 now  tongue

  • It amazes me because a billion dollar corporation like Windows would have these bugs. There really should be no issues at all and ready to go before it is offered to the public!
