    Kate Barrett, a 36-year old woman from England, has written a thank you letter to the burglars who broke into her house and apologised for not having "particularly expensive tastes".

    Here's the note:

    Dear Burglars,

    Thanks for popping by the other night and we're sorry we didn't have more for you to take.

    As you now know, we don't have particularly expensive tastes so there's no need to come in again, unless you would like to take my collection of VHS videos and cassettes - Dan is very disappointed you didn't take these first time round.

    If you would like them just knock on the front door and ask - no need to break another patio door as it's dreadfully hard work cleaning up all the glass.

    Thanks for all the finger prints - we really appreciated those.

    Burglars haven't been caught yet, police are working on it. But I'm sure they got to read the note since it spread all over the news smiley

    Oh dear.  I wouldn't write a letter to burglars that smashed my patio door and took all my stuff.  Silly woman.

    Interesting woman and reaction. I have to give her credit it she handled it in a way that really made a statement.  I wish I could have more of a sense of humor it a time of anger!

    in my oppinion, i think this was a stupid thing she did - and what if the burglar comes back after if they ever saw it on the news - not good really. This was asking for trouble sad
