you know spammers, fishing emails are getting smarter nowaday, I like to hear your inputs on this, before I will do something about it first.  Ok, I received 2 emails, 1 from netspend and 1 from paypal, the emails like this

Customer Services has identified a problem with your NetSpend account.

To correct this issue, complete the form attached to this email.

Thank you for using NetSpend!



Our system detected unusual charges to a credit card linked to your PayPal account.

Reference Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why is my account access limited?

Access to your account was limited for the following reasons:

                  We have established that someone tried to access your PayPal account without
your permission. To ensure greater security, we have limited access to your account. We have sent
you an attachment which contains all the necessary steps in order to restore your account access.

...I've received nearly similar emails, also from facebook and netteller. Glad my english isn't that good, before using translation I'm always deleting. If there would be problems for real, I would mention this while login into the accounts...!?!

I've counted all free money I've been offered via email a day, just for fun while I was bored:

I would never ever answer or fill out anything sent in an email like that.  If you have concerns call them on the phone, but do not give any info in these type of emails.  Legitimate companies (credit cards, banks, etc.) do not send emails asking for information.

Taaa, I too have been receiving those emails and before I delete them, I forward them to rightful sites thinking they(paypal,netspend,) need to be aware of those in order to be alerted.

I logged in to netspend and paypal and there's no messages, alerts, issues at all, so these are absolutely scammers.  I will try to report them to paypal and netspend when I have time.  Darn, I'm mad, just thinking about many innocent people will be victimized by these emails, but what else can I do.

you can usually report things to postmaster@(site address) e.g. paypal.com.  Just forward the email to the postmaster.

You can send the paypal one to spoof@paypal.com TAAA. They take them seriously. And they definitely are phishing emails. I don't have any info on netspend but they probably have something similar.

  3. Delete the email from your inbox.

fraudulent. In the meantime, don't click on any links or download any
attachments within the suspicious email.

Thank you TAAADAAA... just had to add that this is hitting close to home

I have personally received email from two of the companies I have store credit cards with that admit this happened and give departments to contact within their companies if you have further questions.

They do not include your information in these emails, nor do they ask you for your information to be sent in via email. They do downplay the situation a bit, as if not to cause panic... but they do come from stores we all use and probably shop at regularly!
