Regulation for online gambling in the Philippines is extremely atypical. For the majority of the country, the state-owned corporation PAGCOR controls all of the online gambling. It's actually illegal for other companies to run games in the Philippines, and this seems to be a part of their bid to protect their government-backed games. With that having been said, it's a situation that limits competition and gives players a limited number of options. Along these lines, this scenario creates plenty of incentives for players to stick to foreign-operated sites.

Player Protections

Players are protected to a high degree when they play with PAGCOR operations. This is necessary because the government wants to keep faith in the games that provide them with revenue. However, because of the way the system of incentives is set up in this country, plenty of people will decide to play with foreign operators instead. While there are no government protections for players who do this, most of the risk can be mitigated by sticking to sites that have favorable reputations. A long history of reliable pay outs is the single most important thing players should look for in a foreign operator if they're playing from the Philippines.
