Though tiki torches are perhaps the better-known symbol, the tiki itself is actually a carved statue representing the first man. This is quite common in Polynesian mythology (and totems and such used to be popular all over the world).

This time around we seem to have landed in Hawaii, although apparently these things are not called tikis over there - close enough, eh?

The game itself looks quite promising - the payouts are in line with the RTP, and the special features add a nice bit of action on the reels. Graphically it all looks good, including the animations.

Theme

Tiki Mania comes with a beautiful beach flanked by palm trees. As the waves roll gently towards the beach the reels in front fill with some familiar symbols. You’ll find a good number of iconic playing card ranks, but also a ton of themed ones.

Drums and ukuleles are not only on the reels but also on the soundtrack, completing the soothing and relaxed feeling you expect. Generally speaking, there aren’t that many animations at play, but the slot doesn’t really need them either.

Betting Options and Functions

With five reels of three symbols each, this game hasn’t set out to change the world of slots in any significant way. There are only 10 pay-lines, which confirms that this game uses quite a traditional reel setup. No big surprise in stock.

Features

A red tiki wild will appear on reels 2 and 4, and when it does so it nudges into position. This will also trigger a re-spin, with the tiki locked in place. Further respins are triggered by wins. These re-spins also come with multiplier wilds, which are different coloured tikis. These too nudge up and down the reels to complete and multiply winning combinations.

The red tikis also give you a chance to win one of the jackpots. The smaller one will grant you a pot 50 times your total bet, whereas the bigger one offers a thousand times the total bet. Neither are progressive jackpots.

Finally, you also have some bonus games to look forward to. The free spin scatter appears on the middle reels, and when all three have one the player is awarded ten spins. You will also immediately gain double your total bet as a cash prize. Further scatters showing up during the feature will add an extra spin to the total tally.

Our Take

Fortune Factory Studios has produced a slot that is easy to play and enjoy. It might not become a hit for the ages, but for those looking for a simple game with lots of hits (albeit small ones most of the time), it offers a gameplay experience that is hard to challenge. And there are those couple of big wins that might land as well!
